Welcome to the website of the EWDA conference 2010

The ninth EWDA conference will be held on the Dutch island of Vlieland, from 13 to 16 September 2010. The theme of this conference is:

“Healthy wildlife, healthy people”

Zoonotic wildlife diseases threaten not only wild animals, but through these also domesticated animals and humans. Emerging infectious diseases are known to arise for 75% from the animal reservoir, in which wildlife plays an important role. By focusing on the interface between wildlife health and public health, we intend to stimulate a stronger interaction between professionals from these disciplines. Besides this theme, we will have presentations on many other topics related to wildlife health. Taken together, this conference will be of great interest for people from many different disciplines, ranging from public health professionals and wildlife diseases specialists, to ecologists, biologists and epidemiologists.

Confirmed speakers of this conference are: Prof. Dr. Ab Osterhaus , Dr. Jim van Steenbergen , Prof. Dr. Herbert Prins, Prof. Dr. Menno de Jong,  Dr Alexandra Mailles, Prof. Dr. Sarah Randolph and Prof. Dr. Bruno Gottstein
